Hidalgo, Ph.D., will present "Stranger and Sojourner: Scripture's Migration Narratives," exploring how migration stories in Scripture reveal God’s presence among those on the move. Dr. Hidalgo is Professor of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of San Diego, where her research focuses on how Latina/o/x communities engage Scripture in relation to migration, race, gender, and utopian imaginaries. She is the author of Revelation in Aztlán and Latina/o/x Studies and Biblical Studies, and has held leadership roles in the Academy of Catholic Hispanic Theologians of the United States and the Society of Biblical Literature. The 2026 Lecture Series, Walking with the Migrant: Jubilee, Justice, and Hope, features one-hour virtual lectures that explore the spiritual, scriptural, and ecological dimensions of migration through the lens of Catholic faith, highlighting it as both a lived human experience and a call to solidarity, justice, and hope in today’s world. Jacqueline M. Hidalgo, Ph.D., will present "Stranger and Sojourner: Scripture's Migration Narratives," exploring how migration stories in Scripture reveal God’s presence among those on the move.
