Magis Moment: July 2026

A Message from the Vice President of University Advancement

June was a newsworthy month at Loyola. On June 9, members of the Wolf Pack community, along with campus leaders, alumni, and friends, gathered to share in the announcement that Wolf Pack Athletics has been accepted as a member of the Gulf South Conference, effective Fall 2027, marking Loyola's return to NCAA competition after more than fifty years.

What made that day so meaningful was not just the announcement, but the people behind it. This moment belongs to thousands of members of the Wolf Pack. It belongs to the student-athletes who gave their best in competition and in the classroom. It belongs to the coaches who believed deeply in what this program could become, investing countless hours to guide it forward. It belongs to the administrators and staff who worked quietly and persistently to help expand opportunities. It belongs to the families, alumni, and fans who year after year have cheered on the Pack. Standing in that room, the gratitude and pride were overwhelming.

This transition represents growth and opportunity for Loyola. It is impossible not to feel proud of this accomplishment, knowing how many members of the Wolf Pack helped get us there. And it is incredible to know that the next step in our journey is one we are taking together. As we prepare for Division II competition, we are investing in facilities, resources, and experiences that honor our tradition while preparing our student-athletes for what comes next. This next chapter will only be possible because of those who believe in Loyola and in the lives shaped through Wolf Pack Athletics. I invite you to learn more about that journey and to help ensure that our student-athletes have every opportunity to thrive.

Sincerely,

Stephanie Hotard
