Mostly Mondays continues with a presentation from Dr. Valerie Goertzen.

The talk focuses on a pocket-sized tour book prepared by one of the first professional concert agents in Europe for the world-class violinist Joseph Joachim (1831–1907). The itinerary paints Joachim’s life on tour as a succession of highly focussed vignettes, a series of instructive choices that shed light on his biography and, more generally, on the changing status of artists in the second half of the nineteenth century.
